Perhaps a little context is in order. I first met Chuck back in high school, seemingly a hundred years ago. He was an Eagle Scout and just a genuinely nice guy. But back then, I didn’t know he was a businessman, and perhaps, neither did he.
It wasn’t until the beginning of the pandemic that I truly reconnected with Chuck and learned about the Mountain Man.
My name is Jim Shelvy and for the last six plus years, my company NexCore has been in the business of helping other businesses grow and succeed. In the spring of 2020, we hosted an event called Streamathon and the St. Louis Small Business Independence Day Celebration support of St. Louis Businesses that needed help during the pandemic.
Chuck and his family made their living selling, what I have come to believe is a life saving product, called Mountain Man Skrub. The one problem was that they sold everything at fairs, trade shows, craft fairs, festivals, and at various live events throughout the country. But, in 2020, everything came to an immediate halt. No more anything. Shutdowns, Lockdowns and more, impacted the lives of millions, actually BILLIONS of people around the world, and their business came to an abrupt end.
It was the first time I got to know Chuck, before, I just knew Chuck but never got to know him.
Here’s my take.
Chuck is a man of integrity, a man of purpose, a family man, and an incredible father who I believe is saving lives and changing the entire face and perception of men’s personal care products.
I’ve watched Chuck reinvent himself, his company, his products, and save his family from what most people would have allowed to destroy it.
This blog, and specifically, this introduction to Chuck and the Mountain Man Companies, will share with you insight into the man and a peak behind the company curtain that is unlike anything you could expect.
